I read about your International 70mm Association and The 70mm Newsletter
with interest in the April 1996 issue of American Cinematographer.
Though
India produces the largest number of motion pictures [in the world, ed], we
are yet to produce a 70mm feature film using 65mm picture negative.
Out of
the 7 or 8 films released in 70mm format (blown up from CinemaScope
negative) I happen to be the Director of Photography for one of them.
Enclosed copy of my letter published in June 1993 issue of American
Cinematographer will give more details.
Our dream of producing a 70mm feature film in India is yet to be realised.
Meanwhile please send us details about your International 70mm Association
and your 70mm Newsletter. Wishing you all success in your endeavor for the
advancement of large format cinematography.
With warm regards
K. Ramachandra Babu, (President)

Cinematographers
