Gillian
Reid has replaced Jeni Hall as coordinator of reservations for this year's
weekend. Jeni is no longer with the museum but is nevertheless expected to
show up in the audience of one or two screenings. |

Lots
of delegate's packages ready to be handed out.

The
most interesting item in the delegate's package was probably this
envelope...

|
...which revealed a three strip clip from the new Cinerama film "In the
Picture".

Sheldon
Hall introducing "The Great Escape".
An interesting part of his introduction were two songs; first a "rock video"
of the Longest Day theme sung in French by
Dalida,
then the Great Escape March with the really strange original lyrics
performed by Mitch
Miller and the Gang.

Bill
Lawrence welcoming the audience, and bringing messages from some noteworthy
regulars who were unable to attend this year. He also notes that
projectionist Tony Cutts has recovered from illness, and will enjoy "The
Sound of Music" as a member of the audience, rather than running the
projectors.

|
Wolfram
Hanneman introducing "The Sound of Music". The film was very popular all
over the world, in fact so popular in Korea that one cinema owner found an
original way to squeeze in more performances in a day. He simply cut out all
the songs...
|
|
And
it's goodnight for Day 1...
