Ken Annakin's new autobiography "So You Wanna Be A Director" is a wonderfully entertaining reading experience. The book is full of drama and enough fantastic locations to make an interesting film about the life of a successful movie director. I'd like to recommend the book to everyone interested in films, actors and in Mr. Annakin's career in particular. I read the book during the summer and I quite often found it impossible to put it down, because the stories were told in a very straightforward manner which nailed me to the pages.
Last year I had the pleasure to interview Mr. Annakin in
Bradford and have eagerly awaited the publication of his book.
I haven't seen many of his films, in fact only three of them for sure; "Those Magnificent
Men", "Battle of the Bulge" and "The Longest Day". I will surely try to look for some of the remaining titles now that I have read his autobiography.
