At the 2012 Bradford Widescreen Weekend Sydney delegate David Coles presented 'a witty canter through the life and career of John H. Mitchell' - legendary Australian Cinerama preservationist.

Although John was unable to attend the Festival in person, the wonders of modern technology allowed a live Skype link-up with Australia in which Bill Lawrence advised him that, in recognition of his exceptional services to the world of Cinerama, John H. Mitchell was to be ordained into the Grand Order of the Bradford International Film festival Academy of the Wide Screen Weekend.

David Coles returned home a few weeks later with the parchment, and instructions from a man named Thomas to photograph the Award handover.

Within days of his return, David received a telephone call from a Bora Bora lady advising that she was visiting her Sydney home for a few days.

Who better to make the presentation than Ramine, the featured performer in "Cinerama South Seas Adventure", who had caused so much excitement for those attending the Bradford Digital World Premiere screening?

Saturday May 26 was arranged as the day for Ramine and her husband to visit John at his Cinerama venue/home for the presentation and photograph session.

The irony of their visit was that they had been passing by the house for decades without being aware that the film Ramine had been so keen to see again was being shown there. When they finally did visit, the print was no longer there - having been sent to Bradford late last year!
