It's
that time of year, Cinema Retro fans! We're about to enter our 17th year of
publishing with issue #49. Now is a great time to support the world's most unique film magazine
by subscribing or renewing for issues #49, 50 and 51 so you can enjoy a full
year of our in-depth look at films of the 1960s and 1970s. Subscribe or
renew for season 17. Issues ship in January, May and
September, 2021.
The January 2021 issue of Cinema Retro magazine is due to ship late December
in the UK and Europe, and late January in America and Canada.
Issue #49 is a cracking magazine to start the New Year with - and their 17th
year in publication - which includes a tribute to Sean Connery, and a Film
in Focus 10-page feature on the Sensurround WWII epic Midway (1976). Robert
Leese reviews the weird Carnival of Souls (1962), Dave Worrall investigates
what happened to the Thunderball yacht The Disco Volante, and Cai Ross
examines the making of Damien: Omen 2 (1978). Also included are features on
Elvis: That's the Way it Was (1970), on location in Australia for On the
Beach, and Lee Pfeiffer reviews The Venetian Affair (1966) as well as Woody
Allen's Take the Money and Run (1969). All of this, plus their usual
round-up of CD, DVD and book news and reviews, provides a jam-packed first
issue for 2021!
Articles lined up for the rest of the year include interviews with Jenny
Hanley and Christopher Matthews talking about Hammer's Scars of Dracula,
Film in Focus features on Ice Station Zebra, Cleopatra, Tora! Tora! Tora!
and an exclusive interview with director William Friedkin about the making
of The French Connection, which celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2021.
Cinema Retro is published in January, May and September each year. Details

then hesitate no longer and sign up right away
to subscribe to this unique magazine. Thanks to
the loyal readers, Cinema retro has made it this far even in an era in which
print magazines seem to be going the way of the leisure suit. Then again, Cinema
Retro is unique, which may explain why readers are so loyal. No other magazine centers specifically on the great Golden Age of film making: the 1960s and
1970s. Every issue is unique with exclusive interviews, rare photos and
insightful columns about classic and cult movies that virtually no one else
covers in this kind of detail. CINEMA RETRO, now in it's 16th year of
publication, is a 64-page full colour magazine and the Essential Guide to
Classic Movies of the 60's and 70's.
Each issue is a limited edition collector's
item - published in England but available worldwide. This is not an amateur fan
magazine. Rather, it is written by recognised writers in the field of film
criticism as well as from the vantage point of the actors, producers, directors
and technicians who were a part of this wonderful era of film making. To ensure
you receive each issue of this magazine, you must be a subscriber. Cinema Retro
is a premium-priced magazine designed for readers who take their moves
seriously. You will not find the latest film news, gossip or rumours. You will
find insightful and fun articles regarding classic and cult movies, in-depth
interviews and some of the rarest photos imaginable.
Every photo-packed issue features:
• Major in-depth look at a classic film or film series.
• Cinema sirens and hunks: photos of those delicious sexy actresses and actors
whom we all long to see again.
• Reproductions of some of the greatest movie poster art of all time.
• Exclusive interviews with actors, producers and directors from films of this
period.
• An international team of film scholars and journalists brining you classic
movie news and articles from around the globe.
