What the archive kept. I recently found a picture in my files sent to me years ago. "Le Central" with a "70mm" above the former front door. I was curious if the Internet had any information about it. • Go to 70mm Cinema and Film in France Unable to find it, I asked Stéphane Landfried (Fédération Nationale des Cinémas Français) for some assistance, and in a split second, he located it, thanks to a license plate on the car. Not much is known, but here are a few details. From sallesdecinemas.blogspot.com (edited): "Le Central" 33, rue Lucien-Voilin in Puteaux (Paris) opened in 1934, and closed again in 1973. 1350 seats with a balcony and an 8-meter scene. The building has been demolished. A new cinema by the same name "Le Central" has been built elsewhere in the neighbourhood. What film in 70mm did the Central play? If any readers from France can add something, in70mm.com welcome this information. 25.01.2021: Hi Thomas I knew The Central Puteaux. I saw "Kings of Kings" in 70mm French dubbing, may be others films but my memory... I visited the booth, but I don't remember the brand of the two 70mm projectors. I remember there was a 3rd 35mm projector for the first part. I saw many 70mm and 35mm magnetic films from 1968 to 1980? I must find my archives... Best regards Dominique Laruelle, Paris, France |
