DVD disc cover

One night after returning home from work, I noticed a large brown envelope on the coffee table that had been addressed to me. I picked it up to see what it was all about and after reading some of it, I realized that it was from Bob Bryden (my youth pastor). I took it downstairs to show it to my mom and by this time I was asking all kinds of questions about "The Alamo". What is "The Alamo"? Did you see "The Alamo", mom? Do you think Bob's crazy when he says that he found 'THE LOST ALAMO', mom? What does one wear to a screening...oh... excuse me, l mean a PRIVATE SCREENING?

As my alarm went off extremely early, I got out of bed and said to myself , 'Chris, do you really want to see "The Alamo"?' And the truth was that I did and I was quite excited about it. I then drove to Michael Guild's house, whom, through Bob and "The Alamo", I had come to know as a friend and someone who would eventually become my record producer. Before I go any further in this story let me quickly plug Bob Bryden's cassette, 'THEATRE LIKE THIS'. It is fantastic. I own 2 of them. I would recommend it to anyone and it was produced by, you guessed it, Michael Allen Guildl! END OF PLUG.

Back to the story! We then drove to the Eglinton Theatre in Toronto where we met Ashley Ward and several other people who had travelled great distances to see the EPIC masterpiece. The curtains were drawn and the movie began. It was the first time I had ever seen "The Alamo", so I didn't know what to look for to determine whether or not it was the 192 minute version. l did, however (several times throughout the film), notice everyone else getting excited at all of the scenes that they had not seen for 30 years. In closing I would like to say that, Nov. 24, 1990, is a day that I will not too quickly forget and that having the opportunity to view such a fantastic film in it's original splendor was AWESOME and I hope people like Ashley Ward and Bob Bryden are not forgotten for all the work that they have done.
