The following is a reference / historical listing of the 70-millimeter
presentation of “Star Wars: Special Edition.”
“Star Wars,” originally released in 1977, was directed by George Lucas (“THX
1138,” “American Graffiti”) and starred Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie
Fisher, Peter Cushing and Alec Guinness.
The 70mm print of “Star Wars” featured DTS audio and full-frame imagery blown up
from anamorphic 35mm and was the revised, 125-minute Special Edition cut. The
print featured multiple Scandinavian-language subtitles.
